August has brought a real step change at Riverbend Ivanhoe, with the building now climbing steadily and multiple trades working in parallel across several levels at once. What was once a site defined by basement works and ground floor framing is now taking on the unmistakable shape of an apartment building and the pace of progress this month reflects that shift.
Structure climbing level by level
The standout achievement this month is the completion of the level 2 and level 3 slabs, with over 1000 cubic metres of concrete poured to bring both levels to life. Alongside the slabs, precast panel installation has also progressed strongly across levels 2 and 3, with roughly 70 columns and 21 panels now in place, forming the structural backbone that will carry the building through its next stages.
With momentum firmly behind the team, attention is now turning to level 4, with the slab scheduled to be poured in the coming week. Each pour brings the building noticeably closer to its full height and marks another step in the steady rhythm the construction team has maintained throughout the build.
Framing is also well underway, with light gauge steel now being installed for apartments on level 2 east and level 3 west. This work is laying the internal framework for what will soon become liveable spaces and it's a stage where the building really starts to reveal its final form. The roofing works are set to commence in the coming week, adding another layer of protection and progress to the build as it continues to rise.
Finishes taking hold on the ground floor
While the upper levels push skyward, the work on the ground floor is moving into a more detailed and finished phase. The internal and external walls of the ground floor east apartments have now been framed, with sheeting around 30% complete. The rough-in works for plumbing and electrical are set to commence in the coming week, bringing these apartments another step closer to completion.
Windows are also progressing well, with 50% now installed across the ground floor. High-level services have been completed throughout the ground floor apartments and corridors, forming an essential part of the building's infrastructure ahead of final fit-out. Looking ahead, external wall sheeting is set to commence mid-August, further advancing the finished look and feel of the ground floor.
A building taking real shape
From concrete slabs and precast panels to framing, roofing and finishes, August has been a month where Riverbend Ivanhoe's progress has become impossible to miss. Every level poured and every wall framed brings this Ivanhoe address closer to completion and closer to the moment residents can finally call it home.
